These Are The 11 Players Super Eagles Coach Needs To Start In Today’s Match Against Sierra Leone

Today’s Match

As we count down to today’s AFCON qualifying match against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, the Super Eagles have no choice but to win and win convincingly. This is one match they are condemned to win irrespective of the fact that their opponents are at home.

If we are serious about winning today’s match, the coach needs to make the required changes from those that started the first leg. With our proposed 4-2-3-1 formation, there is no doubt we have the players to beat the Sierra Leoneans in Free Town.

Here are our proposed winning first eleven:

Goalkeeper

I think it is advisable to start Daniel Akpeyi in this make or mar match based on his experience. Maduka Okoye is a good goalkeeper no doubt, but, we think he needs to gather more experience.

Defenders

Ola Aina, William Troost Ekong, Chigozie Awaziem and Zaidu Sanusi should Marshall our defence in today’s match. Awaziem should partner Ekong in the middle while Aina and Sanusi would operate from the right and left of the defence respectively.

3. Double Central Midfielder

I am suggesting Shehu Abdullahi to partner Oghenekaro Etebor at this position. Shehu will add strength and power to our midfield. Their job should be to frustrate the Leone Stars attack and at the same time launch their own attacks with ferocity.

Central Midfield

Kelechi Iheanacho should play in this position. He should be the one supplying the ball to the main striker as Ahmed Musa and Samuel Chukwueze assist from the left and right wings respectively.

Striking position

Since our main danger man Victor Osimeh would not be playing today due to an injury from the first leg, I think we have a good replacement in the person of Emmanuel Dennis from Club Brugge. He is known for his scary pace and magical feet.
